Hogan Lovells International LLP

What changes have you made to your hiring plans?

Owing to the impact of Covid-19 we took the decision to cancel our two summer vacation schemes in 2020. This decision was not taken lightly, but our priority was to safeguard all the students confirmed to attend, as well as our own people.

All students due to attend these programmes were advised of the situation and we made alternative offers for later vacation schemes and permanent roles to those students impacted by the cancellation of these programmes. Bespoke virtual lunch and learn sessions focusing on the firm's response to Covid-19, practice area insights, innovation, diversity and wellbeing were developed and delivered for these students throughout the summer. Our first year insight events will also run virtually in July and August.

We will offer a virtual internship through InsideSherpa in August. The platform will allow students to gain hands-on work experience, by trying 3-5 trainee level tasks which take around 1 hour to complete. These tasks will provide key insights into the work we do at Hogan Lovells and commercial law. The platform will be available free of charge to any student globally to sign up. We are collaborating with colleagues in the US to offer a global landing page where students have the option to undertake the US or UK programme.

Applications are still being reviewed and we will be in touch regarding the outcome of these with applicants. Assessment days for training contracts and vacation schemes will run later in the year and once dates are confirmed, further information will be communicated to the students impacted and updated on our graduate website and social media channels.

If students have any outstanding questions in the meantime, they should feel free to contact a member of our graduate recruitment team at graduate.recruitment@hoganlovells.com
